My favorite for around $20 is probably Dickel 12 (90 proof)
I like Bulliet. I think it's 80 or 90. Then there is Knob Creek at 100. Way smoother than the Bulleit but more expensive.
I have two favorites...there is Eagle Rare and Evan William Single Barrel Bourbon (not just Evan Williams...has to be the single barrel bourbon). I don't know the proofs...sorry...but they are both very good and smooth. I like it over ice, let the ice melt a little, stir it up, and sip it, savoring the flavor in each part of my mouth. I think they are both about $25-$32 a bottle, depending on the store and what sales may be happening at the time.
Buffalo Trace 90 proof for normal drinking, but on special occasions I break out Wild Turkey Rare Breed or Bookers or Four Roses Barrel Strength all of them are arount 110-125 proof.
