You can...but it will not at all help your gout...my dad had gout a while back and he's an alcoholic...they said he needed to stop drinking...at least untill he heals...he didnt stop drinkin...but he did heal...it just took longer and the pain was worse...your choice man...good luck

having a high level of uric acid and then taking a diueretic is a bad combo. but if you drop red meat you might still be able to have one or two beers. talk to a doctor about managing your condition.

I don't know, can I still drink alcohol if I go to AA meetings?

do not put your life at risk.
go consult a doctor before resorting back to drinking

It didn't stop Ben Franklin. If you want extra attacks, knock yourself out, but please don't gripe about your self-induced problems afterwards.

Isn't gout when you get really bad pain in your feet? I dont think you should have a problem w/alcohol unless ur takin medicine that reccommends u not to drink....

NO, NO,No avoid any type of alcohol specially beer and wine

I was diagnosed with gout several years ago. Apparently there are some misconceptions about it. The number one factor that can lead to gout is heredity. If other people in your family have it, you may develop it. It is caused by the kidney's inability to remove uric acid from the blood. As the uric acid gets concentrated, it starts settling out in certain areas, mainly joints. If you've ever had it you know the feeling of those uric acid crystals in your joints - ouch. Other factors can contribute to increasing the uric acid content in your blood. I had always heard that "rich" foods do this - but it was explained to me that organ foods (brain, kidneys, liver) are bigger culprits. This did not bother me when the doctor was explaining it to me, but when he also added that alcohol can affect it, my jaw dropped. They have medication that, taken daily, will assist the kidneys in disposing of the uric acid. I still drink, not as much, and it doesn't seem to worsen it. Everyone's affected differently.

Well..you shouldn't....you will suffer later.........

yes but your foot will hurt more.....
