Breastfeeding? How safe i drinking tea?!
Answers: my daughter is 7 wks - i drink about 3 cups a day. it really relaxes me. i only drink caffine free - mint, fennel, caraway, raspberry, and camomile. how much is too much tea?
On the whole tea is a good drink for breastfeeding mothers. Don't let it stand for too long though, because the content of highly active substances, such as tannin, would increase. This would then work like caffeine and it would not be good.
Green tea from China or Japan tastes good and is very healthy for breastfeeding mothers.
Herbal teas made with rosehips, chamomile, and peppermint are not dangerous. Rosehips also contain lots of Vitamin C.
If u ever opt to shift to "breastfeeding tea", Licorice root can be found in many "breastfeeding tea" - this should be AVOIDED as it can make the baby lethargic or the baby might suffer from a weak cry or weight loss.
I personally suggest that u shouldn't drink more than 3 cups of tea a day. Normal amount of tea per day should be just 2 cups, but three is not dangerous. Just drink the right tea.
Hope this helps.. Good day :)
If it's caffeine free, you can drink as much as you want. It would probably also be okay to have one or so cups of Black tea also.
its not a big deal at all to drink a bunch of tea when breastfeeding...just have some sort of variation between other drinks
Three cups a day of herbal tea is just fine. You could probably drink twice as much with no ill effects. (Just be aware that too much mint tea can cause heartburn in some people, and people with serious hay fever should stay away from chamomile.)
well u better ask your doctor about it. we can't just tell the real thing until some experts/ specialists have studied and confirmed it.... better be cautious
I could go for some milk right about now.
