Yeah...that's pretty steep. The profit margins on any bar is pretty high. It's just a fact. You are paying to be in the club a lot more than for the drink.

The clubs feel you are a captive audience and since you can not bring drinks in. They can charge extreme prices.
They are also aware you are trying to impress your date.

Both reason are poor reason to have costly drinks, but it reality

ps Supply and demand (one supplier alot of demand)

They charge you that much because THEY CAN. Try to bring in your own drinks next time. haha j/k

because [eople will pay it!! if you are with a girl you like they say your beer is 20.00, you pay it to impress

Well, cause clubs are piece of sheet :D. I only went to 3 clubs in my life i don't like it one tiny bit. The music sucks, the whole atmosphere sucks, everything sucks. Do what i do, grab a bunch of your buddies, put all your pocket money, then buy beer (lots and lots of beer). It's cheaper and it's more effective (at getting drunk i mean :D).

They cost that much because there's apparently plenty of people willing to pay that much. Find a different place to go.

No need for you to be sorry ...
They are just showing off...
"the fool and their money,,"
They get paid too much anyhow..
What do they call it selfish - - self indulgent - - ??

i don't know where you are getting your drinks from or what you are getting in them but that is a lot of money...good thing i like cheap drinks!!!!

And here I am, complaining about a beer costing 5 dollars at the local grimy, smoke filled bar when I could just be enjoying my Colt 45 on a random corner, underneath a moonlit sky.

buy alcohol in a supermarket, drink it and then go to a club.trust me,im spending last 2 yrs like that and it works :P

First of all, you cannot bring your own, so you are forced to purchase drinks at the club. Second, clubs try to maintain an image and keep away the "riff-raff" that might drive away paying customers. Not only does charging $12 for a house rum & coke make the bar a lot of money, but it attracts people who have a lot of money to spend.

For less than the amount of money you'll spend, go to a high-end liquor store and try out some new craft beers, or buy a bottle of top-shelf liquor and mix your own drinks at home!

the club says it's so you don't drink and drive but it's really because they know that you will pay for those drinks

Nirav

Not only don't you have no business at the club, but clubs that sell and serve alcohol have no business being in business!
