Depends on what I am eating. Good thick steak off the grill. Cab. A nice fillet Merlot

Hmm... probably Cabernet, but I might need more Merlot just to be sure.

Merlot, as I love the smokey, fruity, blackberry hues of this wine.

I agree with the other answer... Cab with a steak or hearty meal, merlot with a lighter meal.

Served without food I will always choose a cabernet over a merlot...but that is just personal preferance. I also like some of the Chilean cab/merlot blends and find that is often a good compromise when I am serving friends that may not share my preferences.

I'd go the Merlot, but Cab sav a good choice. Merlot is not as twangy.."+ Go both.

If it's a very old cab. I'd drink it. Less than 10 years is just not old enough for a cab. to taste good.

Merlots are drinkable now.

Buy a bordeaux instead, cuz they are blends of (mostly) cab and merlot. Voila!

Depends where it is from, Washington defiantly Cab, California Merlot.
