Mouton rothschild?!

Question:

Mouton rothschild?

how does one submit artwork to wine makers for use on their labels?

Answers:
Mouton Rothschild will approach artists they want. They use only internationally famous artists (Chagal & Picasso have been on the label in the past), and the artist creates a new work specifically for the label and their fee is paid in wine.

It is rare for wine labels to carry works of art from unknowns except for artists working for a label company making designs.

Some wineries use locally famous artists' works (such as Peter Lehman in Australia and Marsovin in Malta.

Suggest you approach small wineries local to you and speak with them.

Most wine makers have "Art Departments" for this sort of thing.

You could possibly submit a letter to them before sending any copies of your art work and ask them if they would be interested in taking a look at it.

Send them a letter that goes something like this - "I came up with this absolutely great idea for a real colorful, modern Label for Mouton Rothschild!

Would you please advise me if you would be interested in taking a look at it?"

They may not reply to your letter and don't be surprised if they tell you they are not interested.

These folks are very protective of their own skills and jobs!

Good Luck!

I recently saw Baroness Rothchild on TV and she was unveilling the newest labels in a larger format, my suggestion would be do a search of the company, send them a digital portfolio, or burn them on a disk and mail or courier them to the offices in regards to the Production Manager or the Marketing Department.

If you speak French you can include a short explanation of the work, and a return address for contact.
