Legal percentage of drinking alcohol?!

Question: In Health class we were asked to find out for homework what the legal percantage of drinking alcohol is?

I guess like if you were drinking and got pulled over and they test to find a certain percantage of alcohol in your body and if it's over the legal percentage you're in trouble.

So what's the percentage?

So what's the percentage?

In my health class today we talked about the Blood Alcohol Concentration(BAC), and we were told that 0.08 was the percentage for adults(21 and older) and at our age it is 0.02.

Most states are 0.08 now. When I lived in PA it was 0.1 but the trend has been to change it lower and I lived there 10 years ago.

It's called the "blood alcohol level" and most states have a limit of 0.08.

The answer you your question is .08.

At least in Illinois, they have a "no tolerance law" that applies to people under the age of 21. That means that ANY detected alcohol in the blood means you lose your license. Its pretty cut and dried. If your over 21 in Illinois, it is .08 level.

Refusing the test in Illinois also guarantees loss of your license for 6 months. Although there may be no test evidence showing drunk driving, you will still lose your license for awhile for refusing to take any tests.

Keep in mind, if you are in an accident and being treated at a hospital you will obviously have some blood tests done. Those can be subpoenaed by the police also.

if your still in school its 0 for you legally

Michigan used to be 0.1 was drunk and 0.07 was impaired, but a few years ago they dropped it so now 0.08 is legally drunk and 0.05 is impaired. It hasn't done beans to cut down on the drunk drivers just added more money to the municipalities coffers for all the legal fees and fines etc. etc.
Now I am firmly againist drunk driving but I don't see this law as helping anything.

.08
