Wow, Springifeld, MO is where I live and Bartend! Whoohoo I have authority on this question!
Anywhere downtown is good! Trolley's, Big Whiskey's, Icon, Harpo's, Patton Alley Pub, Piano Bar, Bugsy's, Ernie Biggs, Tropical Liquors (Trops if your looking for frozen fruity drinks). However most of those places are usually frequented by college students and slightly more expensive (although a few of them have good specials on Thursday).
The Boogie is $1 cover with 2 for 1 drinks and the Dugout is doing 2 for1's also, but those are usually just college bars.
If you are looking for a cheap dive bar, got to Ray's Lounge on National and St. Louis.
I don't work tonight, but I will probably be stopping by Harpo's later tonight I think they have some kind of pitcher special tonight. If you leave now you can still hit Big Whiskey's happy hour from 4-7pm (half off all drinks).
If you are looking to drink and have good food, go to Springfield Brew Co. They have live music, great beer, and good food!
Personally if you are looking for an ok deal money wise, a good mix of college students and locals, and a great atmosphere I recommend Trolley's (best on Tuesdays), Harpo's (probably the cheapest), Big Whiskey's (happy hour ends soon), or Patton Alley Pub (most expensive of the group, but the largest selection of beer in town). All located downtown and near the square. Club wise Icon is the best tonight and it is also downtown.
