Is it me...or is it annoying when your stuck in a line at the grocery store buying alcohol and some kid working there can't ring you up, so you have to wait until the "of age" employee scans the booze?
I totally get that younger individuals should be able to work if they want to, but it still sucks, just a bit...Doesn't it?

Yeah....It might seem I'm a booze hound, but I'm not. I don't go to liquor stores, cause I'm an impatient one stop shop kinda gal....

When I am in a rush, it's annoying. Or if I've been waiting in line forever and I have to wait even longer for the "of age" checker or manager to finish up what they are doing and c'mon over. Or if the people in line before me had alcohol, and my alcohol was sitting right behind their's at the checkout, and the "of age" person didn't stick around, knowing that my purchases would need to be scanned in about 20 seconds. Now THAT'S annoying.
I'm almost certain that when I was 16 and worked at a K-Mart, I was allowed to scan cigarettes, as long as I carded people. I wasn't old enough to legally smoke them, but I was able to sell them. Why can't it be the same for alcohol? What makes a 20 year old less capable of ringing up alcohol (yes, they should card!) than a 21 year-old?
I don't buy alcohol. But if I did, I can imagine that would be annoying.

Damn right it's annoying. I am always busy! Two jobs, school, believe me that's enough. Don't listen to these other people... they must not have a lot on their plate...I hear the rush to get in and out!
Look, people are busy & don't have time to wait for someone to get an adult to ring them up or line hop. If they are not old enough, make them baggers, stockers or send them out to get the carts so the rest of us can get on with our bottle of happiness & move along. Next
I guess it doesn't bother me as long as it doesn't take forever for them to find the "of age" person. Especially if there is a big line behind you and you can hear all of them groan when the kid say "Ma'am, it's going to be just a second while I get someone over here to ring up your hooch."
I always try to go to the old lady line just for that purpose. That way you know she's old enough to ring you up. It is annoying though like that employee might open up your beer and start drinking it or something.
