Cosmo with Regular or Lemon Vodka?!

Question: I've bartended for quite a while and over the years I've found that precisely half of the people I speak with make their Cosmos with a non-flavored vodka and the other half with Citron.

Personally, I make it with non-flavored (and make sure to not hose it down with cranberry as it is supposed to be a cocktail not a fruit juice!) but I was wondering if I could get more input.

The original recipe (pre-Sex In The City) calls for citrus-infused vodka.
But it's not taboo to make it with plain vodka.

I like making my cosmo's the way you do. Enough cran just to colour the drink & with plain vodka.

I'll usually ask patrons if the want a flavored vodka or if they want to stick with plain vodka. I've been offered flavors when I have ordered cosmo's in the past.

regular vodka only

regular

the original and classic Cosmo calls for regular or plain vodka.

regular. Lemon would make it taste off

Regular only. Good Cosmos have a twist of lime.
