Macon is the name for the red and white wines which come from the Maconnais section of Burgundy, France. This region is the most southerly in Burgundy, and also the largest.

As you can see it a 'hard'c.

Hard 'c' pronounced: mack-ON

It actually is pronounced as an almost soft back of the mouth hard c - not like an English hard c but far from a soft c. It is almost a click.
