Question: I was wondering what the type of alcohol is in mouthwash. Some have said isopropyl, but some have said it is just denatured ethanol alcohol. Which is it?

It's ethanol or alcohol from vegetable based material. This is fit for human consumption, like what they put in toothpaste. Isopropol alcohol is a mineral based alcohol that will kill humans.

Check the ingredients of your brand of mouthwash.

It's definitely not drinking alcohol. I swallowed just a small amount of listerine once by accident and puked my guts out immediately after. May have been all the other chemicals in there that did it to, but I just know it wasn't pleasant.
