Quick... what wine with sweet pork ribs?!

Question:

Quick... what wine with sweet pork ribs?

Tonight I am making pork spare ribs with a tangy sweet sauce. Serving it with some coleslaw. What wine do you suggest we serve???

Answers:
A dry red would be more appropriate with the tangy sweet sauce.

Reisling - it is light and sweet and goes well with heavily flavored or spiced foods. But the bottom line is, drink what you like. If you like Merlot, drink some Merlot. If you like Cabernet, drink some Cabernet. Who cares what anyone else thinks!

K Jong Il Knows! Do you know how ******* busy I am? And you take my time with this!

Sweet with sweet is the general rule. Sweet and dry works with spicy. DO NOT just drink what you like. Sorry, but, wine has many attributes that can drastically change the way it, and or, the food tastes.

A DRY Riesling. I like Chateau st. Michelle, out of the Pacific North West and common @ $20 a bottle. A Gewurztraminer is also a good choice, but unless you are getting it from the Alsace region of France, I would be wary of it being too sweet. A demi-sec sparkling wine or champagne may also be a very good pairing.

Ditto on the Riesling. Maybe a Pinot Noir too.
