Can i substitute real beer for root beer for a root beer float?!

Question: my soon to be exgf requested a root beer float. well i had no root beer, so i added some miller lite to the ice cream. i thought it was tasty with a little twist of ale. well, she threw the float down the drain. i wondering if this is grounds for a breakup.

Ive never tried that...It does sound YUKKY!, to me..but Im going to agree w/ "Episodic and Gracie M" on this one...lol..Yuk!!, but then Ive tried Miller lite..doesnt sound like that would work so well w/ icecream..but then Episodic has an awesome idea of tryin dark beers...Im a fan of dark beers also..They ROCK!!...but Ive never tried them w/ icecream either..It does sound interesting together Im thinking of tryin that..Thanx Episodic. This is just my thoughts.you take care, and have an awesome weekend..;)

That sounds like alcohol abuse to me!

what a waste of beer lol

If you're already calling her your "soon to be ex girlfriend", it seems you already have a reason.

And shame on you for ruining good ice cream!!

Good luck with that!

You may want to try it with a creamy dark bear like a Guinness or a chocolate stout. Now that makes for one yummy float...just let the ice cream melt down a little. It takes the bitterness out of the beer.

Similar thing happened to me when I made hot chocolate milk with buttermilk instead of regular milk. I didn't think it was cause for a break up, but the other person did. I guess if one of the partners thinks it is cause, then it is.

I would have dumped it down the drain too. But I don't like beer. I wouldn't have asked for the ROOTbeer float.... I hate floats.

This will strike you as odd (it does everyone else)... I will drink soda (any flavor) and eat ice cream at the same time..... but I can't stand it when it's mixed in the same glass. Makes me gag every time.

yeah they taste really good I love them!
