Does a white russian need to be made with cream, or is it alright with 2% milk?!

Question: cream is too fatty.

Answers: cream is too fatty.

Go for the 2% milk. If you shake it with ice in a martini shaker, then strain it, you won't get the ice melting, so it won't be too thin.

We made Brandy Alexanders at Christmas with 2%, which are traditionally made with 1/2 and 1/2, and they were YUMMY!

I don't want to feel guilty and fat the next morning, so I agree that the cream just isn't worth it. Give it a go with 2%.

Why not just sip the vodka with ice cubes.

You could use a lighter cream.
Milk is too thin for it to have the texture of a 'creme' drink

Ive seen it used with regular milk

When bartending for receptions, I make them with whole milk. At least somewhat better than cream, and nobody complains at all.

The DUDE uses powdered creamer...And the DUDE abides.
