Does alcohol (liquor/whiskey) go bad?!
Answers: I have a few bottles of it laying around, all opened but still pretty much full, I don't drink it too often so a bottle will probably last me about a year if not more.. I've had the bottles for quite awhile already (at least a year) and I keep them all standing up right in a closet.
Bartender here...and no...whiskey/liquor doesn't go bad...not unless you introduce ice cubes or something directly into while it is still in the bottle. You can tell as soon as you pour it...as long as the contents of your bottle remain clear..it is good whiskey!
Nope they are still good to drink.
Edit-
A top contributor sign just came up under my name. I didn't sign up for that, what's going on.
No, most alcohol is aged from the factory...
No like wine it only gets better in time. I know people who have scotch and bourbon and it's over 20 years old.
The real stuff...no. But fruit flavored stuff will crystalize.
you are safe drink up
thay do lose sum flavor over time if the cap ant on tight
They will not go bad anytime soon, no.
Good whiskey or whisky is aged for 10years or so. When it is bottled, it stops aging. As long as it has a good seal on it and no extreme temperatures, then it should be good for your lifetime.
No the alcohol will be fine, as long as you have the lids on tight, if not , bacteria may get in and cause a weird reaction with the yeast in the alcohol. This could cause a bad taste, or possible spoiling. Other than that, a general rule of thumb is that older the alcohol the better and smoother it gets. Happy Drinking!
it just gets better with age or that's true with some whiskeys.
Anything with cream, such as Bailey's would be the only thing to worry about, and it will last 18 months from bottling. Refrigerate after opening.
Whiskey, Tequila, Vodka etc. will last a very long time, probably longer than you will!
Most will last indefinitely and some will even improve with age. Make sure they are sealed properly as alcohol can evaporate over time. Beware of any liqueurs containing cream as they can curdle just like spoiled milk.
They are fine to drink, Liquor stays good indefinitely....
No it does not go bad.
Whiskey, gin, tequila, vodka, etc. will not go bad. After a year of being stored capped in a closet, the flavor should be just as good as when it was first opened.
Liquor will not age in a bottle whether it is sealed or not. Whiskey is aged in charred barrels which contributes to its flavor and color. Once the whiskey is bottled, the aging process ceases.
nooppee the longer they sit the better they are =]
