Is ice permissible in a snifter of cognac? Brandy?!

Question:

Is ice permissible in a snifter of cognac? Brandy?

Answers:
Never!

You can put rotten eggs in if you wish, but it will taste disgusting. Should you put ice in? Absolutely not.

if you liked a girl would you NOT go out with her because someone else thought you shouldn't???

NO.IT TAKES AWAY FROM THE BRANDY, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE AN EXSPENSIVE BOTTLE FOR INSTANT LIKE CARDENAL MENDOZA, NAMASTE

Drink it the way you like, but if you use ice use a rock glass then...(lowball)

generally I've never seen anybody drink brandy cold. But do as u wish

I love a glass of brandy, but i have to agree with everyone else, no ice.

Of course it is permissible ,drink it any way you want. The problem with the ice is that it will numb your taste buds and make it harder to appreciate the complexities and tastes of the Cognac. So in short yes you can but I wouldn't.

no i was a bartender for years you never chill cognac or brandy dont even chill the glass it is supposed to be room temp or warmer , to make it the correct way you would put very ot water in a regular glass fill your brandy glass half way and put it on top of the glass with the hot water in it, that is part of the reason a brandy snifter is shaped that way , the brandy wont spill when tilted on side to warm it!
