My three (current) very favourites are:

1) Phoenix Cabernet Sauvignon from Penley Estate Wines in Australia:

If you can't get these, Italian Chianti is nearly always a good choice.

.

Chianti. Smooth, velvety, aromatic, with a taste that complements all meals

Fleurie.....I heartily recommend it!

I like Turning Leaf or Yellow Tail Cabernet Sauvignon. Another good one is Rosemont Cabernet, and an excellent Cab is Ferrare Canara 2002.

One thats not mass produced in a wine factory, buy yourself some from an auction. go on treat yourself.

Mouton Cadet is a French wine.

Merlot
Easy tannins
columbia crest grand estates, lovely flavours

Get one that is low in acidity and low in tannin. Ask the wine merchant which ones those are. One nice thing about "easy drinking" wines, they are easier on the wallet also. Keep it under $15.00, you'll be happier that way.

I agree with Chianti. It's crisp, not dry, and doesn't linger in your mouth like most red wines. You can get a great bottle for around $10.

Blossom Hill Cabernet Sauvignon

Penfolds Shiraz..........rich and fruity, mmmmmmmm

If you are coverting to red wine?...you'lle be best off starting with the newer fruity reds...like australian shiraz or californian merlot...or similiar to where you live...

chateauneuf du pape

blossom hill fruity

Wolf Blass Yellow Label Cabernet Sauvignon.

Yum.

California red wine U.S.A.Mediun smooth red wine 12 -5 per cent vol
