My Son has a Metal Shop project that requires a Beer Keg

Just look in the yellow pages for Beer supplies, or brewery supplies, something along those lines. Then start calling around.

Your best bet is to go to any fraternaty house the day after a party...honestly, they'll probably just give them to you.
