What alcohol's shouldn't be mixed?!

Question:

What alcohol's shouldn't be mixed?

I am new to drinking, I just started when i was 36 and I am 38 now. My 1st shot was just about 8 months ago. My bartender told me that my sister's bf passed out because he mixed alcohol's that shouldn't have been mixed, I don't know what she is talking about, but I don't want that to happen to me. ?So what alcohol's are not suppose to be mixed?

Answers:
You'll need to come over to my place and we'll try to figure it out together. I don't know if that's why the guy passed out. I bartended for five years and I think what she said may have merit, although he probably just drank too much.
Personally, I would not mix Gin and Tequila unless it's in a long Island Ice tea. gin kinda stands best on it's own. vodka you can mix with about anything. Bourbon is best on it's own. You will have to watch out for the liquers. Schnaaps and yegermiester will kick your *** under the table like flicking a lightswitch. The buzz will sneak up on you then WHAMMY. Suddenly you're dancing topless on tables. Be careful.

That's all a myth. It's all about quantity. Just keep it in moderation and you can mix whatever you like. Know your limits.

beer before liquor never fear
liquor before beer never sicker

no rule just common sense- stick to the same drink or dont drink.....

Usually , if you start with one drink - stick with it . Don't mix beer or wine and hard stuff. It'll lead to hangovers. But no matter what you drink - watch your self. It's too easy to become an alcoholic. If you're starting drinking so late , you may have some things in your personality that might get kicked off by the drinking . Do you have an addictive personality? - shopping , cleaning, video games , betting , anything ?? Be extra careful.

I have also heard this thing but never experienced it.
There are different kinds of alcoholic beverages.
beer, wine, rum, vodka, brandy and many kinds of coctails.
people says that when you are drinking alcohol then drink only one kind of drink at a time. dont drink different kind of drink at a time. otherwise you will be drunk very fast.
I dont know is this scientific or not, but all i know is this.

you can start with light (e.g wine) and then go to strong liquor. once you started drinking something - stick to it, dont mix. dont mix champagne and beer with any other liquor.

That bartender doesn't know what they are talking about.

The whole "Liquor before beer, you're in the clear....Beer before liquor, never been sicker" is a myth. Plain and simple.
