I have bartended in Illinois, and yes you have to be 21.

Yes, you and everyone else has to be 21 and over to drink and serve alcohol any where in the USA. If you went to Canada you can drink if your over 19 year old, except for Alberta which is 18.

Where I live you have to be 21 but most places of buisness want you to be 25...

Well yes. I mean that is if you work in a legal job that does'nt want to get in trouble.

This is kind of crazy I think but in Wisconsin you cannot drink until you are 21 but you can be a bartender at 18.

at walmart you have to be 18 for a cashier which deals with tabbaco and alchohal......

I'm a waitress in washington/not illinois but you can serve alcohol to a table if you are 18year old. But you cannot pour it or open it the bartender must do it for you.

It used to be that you had to only be 18 to serve alcohol. But you missed that by a decade or so. Sorry. I think it is nation-wide that you have to be 21 now.

DUUUUHHHH!

yeah, thats the law in all states as far as i am aware.

21

All liquer laws differ in different states. I am a bartender in Washington. But I have lived in many states. Here you have to be 21 to work behind the bar and actually pour the alcoholic beverage, but and 18 year old bar maid can serve it in establishments like bar and grills. But in California you have to be 21 to handle, pour, serve, do anything with alcohol. You can call your state's liquer board, and find out exactly what the stipulations are where you live, but you are most likely to find that you need to be 21.

You have to be 21 to make the drinks. There are some places that make you be 19 to be able to carry it to the table as long as you dont open it. I live in Illinois and in my town to be in a bar you have to be 21 but in a restaurant that serves alcohol the servers only have to be 19 to bring it to the table.
