How expensive is beer in manhattan?!
Answers: I am going to be in midtown for 2 nights in April and I've heard from quite a few people that buying beer anywhere in the city is expensive as hell. I'm not sure if they meant at the bar or at a store but I'm talking about in the store. Anybody know how expensive it really is for like 12 packs of Sam Addams?
I drank all the beer that midtown had to offer when I was there but i didnt notice a price hike from any other destination . I was probably too drunk to even care.
Theres a great Irish bar next to the Metro hotel W. 35th between 5th and 6th .

Big $ you must bring to NY.
At a bar, you can pay up to $12 for a draft beer, or as a little as $1.50, depending on when and where. Of course, in NY as in most of the civilized world, pretty girls never have to pay for their drinks.
You can get a 12 pack of Sam for $14 - $18
Drinks do tend to be overpriced in NYC; I've seen friends pay $8 for a pint of Heineken. There are also decently priced bars, but I usually expect to pay a little more in any kind of decent joint in the city than I do in Jersey. There are also some fantastic places that have great, rarer beers (House of Brews, Blind Tiger) that you wouldn't find at your average bar, and they're worth paying the extra money for.
