Is being buzzed and tipsy the same thing?!
Is being buzzed and tipsy the same thing?
Can someone please explain the process to me because I want to fully understand it. (Like being tipsy, buzzed, drunk..what to expect and what I feel during each stage)
Answers:
That's a really good Question, actually.
I think "buzzed" and "tipsy" are probably synonymous for the early stages of intoxication. You've had enough (to drink) to feel the effects, and pleasantly so, but you're still in full control. But when you think about it, the word "buzzed" can apply to the...ahem, effects of OTHER substances (no need to specify, right?), while "tipsy" exclusively refers to alcohol. Probably due to the fact that alcohol has been around so much longer---in popular use, anyway--- than other intoxicants. Alcohol has had more time to establish a fan base.
I think most words that describe intoxication (and degrees thereof) are pretty interchangeable, because intoxication is a completely subjective sensation. Nobody can precisely describe what "drunk" feels like; but once you feel it yourself, you say "now I get it!"
Public Service Announcement time: No matter how much, or how little , you've had to drink, DON'T DRIVE.
There, my conscience is clear.
You sound too young to be drinking...
Buzzed is what you feel when you first start drinking and havn't tried to stand yet - tipsy is when you stand up after your feeling buzzed. And drunk is when you make an @ss of yourself.
My advice-never go past "buzzed"
buzzed: it depends on the drug...alcohol: just enough to make you feel a little weak in the knees.
tipsy: more weak and somewhat clumsy and a bit more gigglish. if you're a guy a bit more ballsy.
drunk: you think you're invisible. difficulty walking str8 you can't see straight but you know what your thinking even though when it comes out if your mouth it's slurred and not really making any sense.
trashed: the room is spinning, you look like a whore, or you are getting beligerant. can't walk, too lazy to talk or think and wanna pass out.
