If you are interested in learning about home winemaking, I would recommend you check out http://winemaking.jackkeller.net/ for more information. I would also recommend picking up a copy of C.J.J. Berry's book 'First Steps in Winemaking'.

As far as supplies go, there are a few basic necessities, an airtight fermenter (or two), airlocks, hydrometer, and siphon hosing. These can generally be picked up as a 'starter kit' from your local homebrew shop or online at http://www.midwestsupplies.com or http://www.austinhomebrew.com . These kits will include all of the equipment needed to brew 5 or 6 gallon batches. You will then need to consider what kind of wine you want to make. There are kits available (again from the homebrew shops) for just about any variety of grape wine that you would want, or you could do a 'country style' wine (fruit, honey, etc.). The Jack Keller website I mentioned above has a vast collection of recipes, as well as http://scorpius.spaceports.com/~goodwine... .

Feel free to email me anytime if you need help or have any further questions.

Good prices... good people...

They even include a free DVD when you place your start up kit order.

Home made Biker wine. Start with a new 10 quart plastic pail. Mix in 1gal of warm water...5cups sugar..1 package of yeast..and 1 large can of grape juice (consentrated type) Mix all together real good. Cover the top of the pail with plastic wrap and seal with a large rubber band. Every night without unsealing the pail shake the mixture good. Do this for 7 days. Pour the wine into bottles useing cheese cloth to filter. Sit back and enjoy.
