If you like a sweeter wine, go with a gewurtztraminer. It's a white wine. If you are being offered wine at dinners, etc, then get used to a chardonnay since that's the standard white.

celebration wine...champagne
or maybe red zinfandel...its not as bitter

try white zinfindel

I'm confused - if you don't like wine, why are you looking for some. Pinot grigio is a white, not too dry, not real sweet either. If you'll "add" to your question, might be able to provide better answer. I mean, do you want to drink it yourself, or serve it to someone else, or are you trying to acquire a taste for it or what? There are plenty of sweet dessert wines which you might like - but they're not suitable for serving with a meal. Great for sipping, tho........

Try a Piesporter (German). It's a slightly dry white wine. Fetzer (also German) makes wonderful, light, balanced white wine.

a good starter red is lambrusco riunite
a good starter white is chateau st. michelle reisling
also asti champagne is sweet, you could also try some sangria, it's wine with fruit juices and sliced fruit.

chardonnay is the driest white, don't start there,
cabernet is the driest red, not a good starter wine either,
dry means lack of sugar or a low amount of sugar.

I really like the German wines piesporter & reisling are both excellant wines. There is another one from Australia with a khola bear on it , can't think of the name right now but its great too.
