For a party, beer. Good beer. Provide a decent brew and everyone will be happy. I think we're all a bit pickier about our wine.

Personally I would buy hard liquor and do chasers, but if I had to pick between those two I'd say good beer.

Personally, I'd choose the beer. Particular factors, like how many are coming, food or not, etc. would inform that choice though.

I would go a beer because most people with drink most beers but the same can't be said about wines. Also pick a common beer not one that you think no one has heard of.
