Question:

Have you ever tried absinthe??

Answers:
Actually, contrary to popular belief, Absinthe IS NOT illegal in the U.S. Let me explain...it is illegal to SELL Absinthe here, but not to have, drink, or posses. So, for adults, they can do what I did, I bought it online and had it shipped to me. So technically, it was purchased in another country. It is perfectly legal. As for the taste, yes it is anise/licorice. It comes from the wormwood, which is what makes you hallucinate. Many of the Absinthe out there are not as potent as in ages ago, but it's worth a try.I got an interesting high from it...

They prob will serve you, as the drinking ages in Eur (16-18) tend not to be enforced like it is over here. Keep in mind the good stuff is even illegal in France, so it'll prob be illegal in Italy. Prob have to make a side trip to eastern europe or somewhere.

Green fairy to ya...la fe verte

I'll be very careful not to get arrested with my answer. Let me preface the answer, by saying drinking at 16 is a no-no in most countries, not sure about Italy.

Absinthe tastes like black licorice with a mix of cough syrup. It's a star anise flavored spirit. Star anise is commonly used in black licorice and sometimes pork chops. It is also illegal to import into the US.

You can buy 90 proof in London and 159 proof n Spain.

yup i've tried it.

personally i find it horrible. i threw up my entire insides half an hour after consumption and the puke just reeked of the star anise.

but it could just be me, or the numerous cups of bourbon coke i had before the absinthe. haha

never tried it but i hear it's killer and not for
the weak of stomach

when you drink absinthe you're supposed to dip a sugar cube in it set it on fire, blow out the flame and add it to the drink then add water to i. it is meant to be drank like pernod, rickard etc. but most travellers in europe do it like above, but without the water and slam it like a shot. the real stuff has wormwood in it which is said to act like a hallucinogen. i personally didn't see things, but it is a very different drunk. as to drinking at 16 in europe they are alot more relaxed/tolerant than the u.s. or canada so you probably will be able to

Whoops, don't know if the bars in Europe would serve you Absinthe if you are 16...16 is the age legal for wines and beer in Europe.
Anyways Absinthe is banned in the European Union....apart from Andora...
