Yes.

Yes, either one works due to the citric acid in them. So what you use is a matter of taste, and expediency. Lemons are usually slightly cheaper than limes though. And you can use the lemon juice in a bottle, that works too.

They work great! I personally think that it tastes better too. It's the citrus juice that does it, so really, I'm sure you could use oranges or grapefruits as well.

yes, any acid fruit can take the place of another in just about every recipe

Either one will work. The acidity keeps them from browning.

yes but along with the lemon or lime add some sprite..The fruit will keep its color and remain crisp.
