Does anyone else brew beer?!

Question:

Does anyone else brew beer?

I do and wonder if anyone has a good recipe using simcoe hops.

Answers:
Caveman Ale

8lbs Alexander's light malt extract
1 lb 60 lovibond crystal malt
1 lb Victory toasted malt
1/2 lb cara-pils malt
1.5 oz simcoe hops - bittering (12 - 13% alpha acid)
.5 oz simcoe hops - bitter
1 oz cascade hops - flavor
2 oz cascade - aroma
1 tsp Irish moss
#1056 American ale yeast

Steep grains in 1 gal. water, sparge to brewing pot.
Add 1 gal. water + malt extract, bring to boil.
Add 1.5 oz. simcoe hops - boil for 30 min.
add .5 oz simcoe hops, continue boil for 20 min.
add irish moss
add 1 oz cascade hops, contiue boil for 8 min.
add 2 oz cascade hops, shut off heat and "steep" for 2 min.
Sparge to 5 gal.
Add yeast when cool. ferment to completion, rack off and bottle (or keg)

This is a big beer: hoppy, yet well balanced with a malty finish.
I have used Centenial hops prior to trying the Simcoe
variety. Simcoe hops seem to have a little more "bite".
Cascade hops goes well with Simcoe for flavor and aroma profile.

I dont use hops, I just use honey, yeast, water, a mason jar, and hide it in my sleeping bag

You got me curious so I found this:

Someone asked the same question there and several people have posted recipies.

Now I'll have to find some and try it myself. Cascades on steroids. Sounds interesting

Brewed beer for years. It's amazing how many "friends" you have when it is time to break out a new batch?!

One of the pleasures I had back then was experimenting with different ingredients, including hops. Most brewers know that hops is kissing cousins with cannibus, and has many of the same alkaloids present thereby providing many of the same effects. You ever notice that after a few pints of well hopped beer, how bright it is when you go outside? You can thank the hops for that one. A good beer/hops buzz is much different than an alcohol alone buzz.

You probably already know of the two hopping techniques, one for aromatics, the other for bitters? I used to play around and add one type of hops for the bitters when boiling the wort, and another for the aromatics, placed in at the very end.

May I ask, do you use a pure liquid yeast? You should... it is well worth the investment.

Cheers!

I brew my own for sample purposes for my new customers here in Southern Cali area, and I supply all my customers with whatever ingredients that they need to do their batch. Majority of my customers like the Psycho ***** Blonde kits which is a very easy (amber) kit to make, lite also. not too bad of a pricing either. Definately makes u popular real fast when you brew your own beer and as for the ladies, knowing how to brew beer will make any man drool over you real quick
