What's the highest proof of alcohol allowed by law in the USA?!

Question: thank you.

Answers: thank you.

The strongest available in stores is 95% (190 proof), although many states don't permit anything stronger than 75.5%. However, if you have the appropriate license e.g. medical or industrial) your state may permit the purchase of pure ethyl alcohol through a supplier of chemicals.

I would assume there is no legal limit. Everclear is 95-100% alcohol

i think the highest is in the 100's, maybe 120

It depends on what state you live in.
In some states you can buy 200 proof or 100% alcohol by volume but, in Ohio the strongest alcohol you can buy is 120 proof or 60% by volume.

The highest proof allowed by distillation is 190. After that you have to chemically remove water. Everclear is 190 proof and is available in many (but not all) states.

This varies by state. Many, but not all, allow the sale of grain alcohol like Everclear, which is the highest alcohol possible.
