Is alcohol a good way to adjust your sleeping pattern?!

Question: I was thinking that drinking some red wine before bed would be the best thing to do, but now I am thinking that this would only make me dependant on this and require more and more in the long run perhaps.

So would maybe just forcing yourself into a pattern for sleep be the best way and regardless of how much sleep you have had , just wake up at that time?

I am guessing eventually you force yourself into this pattern.

Thanks for your answers!

When you go to bed after the consumption of lot's of alcholol your sleep isn't proper sleep - it's more of a comatosed state. You will still feel tired the next day. Maybe a couple of glasses of wine would aid you to go to sleep though. But remember you'll get dehydrated and may wake up needing water or the toilet.

it ewiould make you dependant on the wine to slepp after a while ...

i find setting the lalarm early so imup earlier , to ensure im tired when i go to bed.

empty your mind of whatever stops you sleeping

yogo and stretches are good too

NO CANNABIS IS

Alcohol disturbs sleep patterns, it wont help you sleep. Just try and change the routine you have, reading in bed always makes me tired.

No, it's only good for getting pissed.
You would only start to rely on it.
Don't do anything too stimulating before bed such as cleaning, exercise or even watching t.v.
Have a nice bath, Listen to some soothing music while having a hot chocolate and then read for a while in bed.
I hope that helps. Good luck xxx

If you drink alcohol before going to bed, you'll fall asleep almost immediately, but then you'll wake up after about 3 hours with a terrible thirst and not be able to get back to sleep. So it will definitely change your sleeping pattern.

I wouldn't drink it just before turning in. Try having some after dinner has settled. It will help to relax you, but not put you to sleep.

Alcohol induced sleep isn't a good thing. Even drug induced sleep isn't a good thing, but a sleeping pill once in a while can help.

Most doctors recommend a glass or two of wine a day. It's to help with cholesterol and to help relax you. If you choose to do this, check with your doctor first, and be sure to have a day or two without any alcohol. Your liver will thank you.

why dont you search the internet for natural sleeping aids you may find some really useful things ?

not a good idea to rely on drink to get sleeping patterns shifted. easier just to try and go to sleep. eventually your sleeping pattern will change to the way you want/need it

JUST EXERCISE THEN YOU WILL BE TIERD AND JUST FALL INTO BED.IT WORKS FOR ME.

yes it would work but you will be up and down through the night.. try some sleep aids milletonin works real good for me.. I buy it at sam's club. it's with the vitamins and pretty cheap. plus it's more natural.. plus it's a deeper sleep with out bad dreams//

Get lots of exercise and drink lots of water. Get up everyday at the same time and go to bed at a regular time too. If you have anything stimulating before you go to bed this will wake up your mind so, avoid chocolate, soda esp cola, tea, caffeine and large meals. It is also best to avoid exciting movies or books. The wine on a daily basis is good for you anyway as it contains 22 amino acids, these are the building blocks of life and will be good for you but, not before bed! You could Valerian or Calms before bed but do not use them on a regular basis, try them for a week on and a week off, until your sleeping pattern has established itself. Good luck ZZZZZZ well.

Personally I can't sleep unless I'm trashed....

i only have a few beers to make me sleep

Yes, but in a negative way.
