Just tell her to shut up, that you are not dumb and can handle it. I agree with you. I have gone out and what I generally do is tip on the first drink if I am only getting one. Otherwise I wait until the tab is ready to be paid for.

To shut her up, run a tab on a credit card. That's what I usually do.

Most people who pay for each drink separately tip the same. If you run a tab, then you tip when you pay the bill. Tipping every time also insures the same waitress/bartender gets tipped, even though a lot of bars pool their tips and split them evenly. If that's the case, it doesn't matter when you tip. She may also be tipping every time to make HERSELF look good.

Most waitstaff get paid about TWO DOLLARS an hour and depend on gratuity to make money.

I always tip after every drink. Hey, they had to come to you to bring you every drink and being in the service industry is hard work. You're on your feet for hours at a time and you don't get the same breaks that other workers get.

I say tip after every drink and if you're there all night with the same server, tip them again right before you leave even if you don't order another drink.

Good for her. You should tip the bartender and servers EVERY TIME, some bartenders don't get an hourly wage or get one so small that it is insignificant to the tips.

You most definatly tip when paying with cash every time you get a round!! Bartenders get paid about 2$ an hour and if you wait til the end of the night, most patrons are drunk by then and forget how much they actually spent all night long, and guess who gets the shaft in this situation? If this makes you uncomfortable then give your credit card to the bartender when you arrive and then you can tip correctly when you cash out.
Keep in mind that for every tip you give the bartender, they WILL remember and therefore you will get faster service, stronger drinks and possibly even freebies.....

she wants the flattery of tipping without paying :) but, i dont tip, ever. im in australia, and i think its rude they expevt it. is that a cultural thing or what? lol. they get bloody paid for their work. imagine if someone dropped their kid off at school, and the teacher was like ... hmm hmmm!! and they tipped her... silly, bulls***. and your friend.... just say with a beautiful smile, yes, of course... look at her, then barmaid, her then barmaid.... and say, go on!! wheres your money then!!?? i bloody would. rude girl :)
