Which brands of vodka are least likely to give you a hangover?!

Question: This question is based on the assumption that undesirable toxins and leftovers in bad vodka adds to the junk that gives you a hangover. I know that vodka is pretty high up on the "clean spirit" list cuz it has hardly any methanol but still..there are quite a few grades of vodka, am I right?

From what I gather there is cheap vodka, which has certain impurities in it that are there because it is mass produced using some dirty industrial tricks. And then there is good, expensive vodka which doesn't have so much bad stuff in it. So my question is which brands are the "cleanest" and consequently the safest and healthiest? My guess is absolut being very expensive might be one of the purest but what about smirnoff and some of the less expensive brand names?

Personally, Grey goose is my favorite vodka. But, it's so expensive and I can rarely spare that kind of money to simply buy a bottle of vodka. There are so many other options as well. It's true that Skyy is a top choice for hangover prevention. However, I dont feel that it's taste is as pure as other vodkas. Ketel 1, Stoli, Thor's Hammer, and other vodkas are slightly less expensive and still tasty. personally, I don't like Smirnoff I always seem to get a hangover head ache from it. Anyway, I'm going to give you a forum link that discusses this topic in particular. Hope it helps...maybe you can add to the conversation you seem pretty knowledgeable!

I am a university student at England so we do a lot of drinking. Smirnoff is by far the best. A way to tell if it is good vodka is doing the 'vodka test'. Put it in the freezer for a couple hours and see if it freezes, pure vodka will not freeze.

Tito's. Way good.

Skyy is high on the list and I drink it, it does not give me a headache. Stoli gives me a headache, but I do not know where it is on the list. Smirnoff ........ I'm still not convinced that it is all that good.

its called alcohol. if you drink enough you will probably get a hangover, almost no way to avoid it. its the sad truth

drink enough of it any liquor will give you a hangover, even beer

If you'd like to sample a 'clean' vodka without spending a lot of money check out Svedka vodka. Svedka utilizes a five column distillation process that lasts over 40 hours which lends to its surprisingly pure taste. Sure it's not quite as good as Ketel One, Grey Goose or Belvedere but you can get a bottle of Svedka for about half the price!

Well, from personal experience I can tell you that Level vodka will not give you a hangover. Hell, it won't even get you drunk. Even if you finish a half bottle (you gave the other half to your friend, who also didn't get drunk).

Then again, Ketel One is good stuff, fairly priced (about $21US for a 750mL) and will get you destroyed without much effort on your part. I've never had a hangover from it.

Avoid Tanqueray Sterling. Worst night ever...and I had less of that than the Level vodka.

whatever u drink with some percentages will give u a hangover.. unfortunately..

Level and Belvedere
