Do cigarettes purchased in the United States contain more chemicals in them as opposed to other countries?!
My friend bought me a carton from Aruba, they are different looking, and have a different feel to them when I smoke them. They seem more 'light' and don't hurt as much.

Cigarettes in European Union are much lighter last years,this community force smokers to smoke light cigarettes and the maximum tar level in them is 10 mg!Some additives are not legal in EU and of course even the "American" brands are not made with American tobaccos.
In my opinion,although i am Greek, nothing beats a US made cigarette! The quality is much higher, so every time i visit US i buy many cartons for home.
P.S. There are no more American tobacco companies sold their products outside the US. RJ Reynolds sold their global rights to Japan Tobacco. British American Tobacco is the owner(outside the US) of many brands like Lucky Strike,Pall Mall,Kent e.g. Finally Philip Morris make their products for Europe, not in the US but in Switserland and in Greece.
There is not even one "made in USA " cigarette in the rest of the world.

This is a great question. Canadian cigarettes are lighter and fuller tasting than their American counterparts and why? American made cigarettes beginning with the bleached paper, the synthetic filter, the ink or artwork all contain various chemicals. Now, moving to the actual tobacco...that in America contains ammonia, nicotine, formaldehyde to name a few....all agents to cause addiction. Hold a cig under a black light and see all the discolorations in the paper. This speaks to the many chemicals that are there to keep you addicted. American cigs are chemical laced drugs. I smoke about 3 packs a week and just cant seem to quit. I know, I know....
I think for the most part, American cigs are safer than non.
Find a good additive free brand and that's about as good as you're going to do.
