It's getting tough!! i'm off the booze today and i'm gagging for a drink!!?!

Question: If you can stop drinking, your whole life will change. You will have no more night sweats. You will be able to sleep all the way through. No more hangovers. You will begin to taste your food again and not want so much salt on it. You will be less anxious or edgy. You will begin to reconnect to society. You will begin to make better choices about everything. All of this will happen for you if you will stop drinking. One day is a long time. Find someone who will agree to be the person you can call on the phone when you are having a rough time of it. It will be that person to whom you can turn at 2 A.M. when you wake up and feel either uncomfortable or just not quite right. I have been sober for twenty-one years, and I can remember the moment I quit as though it happened five minutes ago. I cannot tell you what a different person I am now. I am reconnected with society. Alcohol had isolated me in the worst way. I had to sort of go back to the age I began it all and pick up the pieces and begin again, getting myself back on track and well again. People began to drop by because I was the same person all the time. The rollercoaster ride was finally over. They did not have to wonder which person they would get when I came to the door. It was one person all the time, finally. I am able to write this reply to you as a result of being sober for that length of time. Alcohol was killing me. It was not strength of will power nor of character that got me sober. It was good old fashioned fear. I finally saw alcohol and my drinking was killing me and it literally scared me sober. Twenty-one years ago I was a very different person from the one who is signing this reply right now. Come join me in sobriety. You will never be sorry you made the choice to quit. Sent with strong, healing positive energy to you this Wednesday evening from Chris in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A.

Does summat else - dont give-in !!!

A friend of mine had the same problem.

Might sound a bit naff, but she joined alcoholics anonymous and it's working for her, and she's still cool as ever.

Your body is telling you that you need it. Don't give in!

think of the money you will save. also, my auntie died from alcohol, its not worth it trust me.good luck

DON"T DO IT go to www.i-am-bored.com instead!!!
god bless

Find something to do - I was a bartender for many many years and have seen many a drunk return to a normal life. It seems as though the best thing you can do is find something else to engage in that will take up most of your free time. You can join a sports team, enroll in school (everyone has something to learn), meet new people, get a part-time job in an area of interest, volunteer at a shelter or clinic, etc. If you want to stay sober bad enough you will focus your mind on something else that makes you feel good. Good luck.

well i went out for a drink tonight and i WISH i didnt drink again i feel totally sick and well you no the feeling ...............im at the stage were i faNCY a burgar from the burgar van lol

Me too hun....since last August I have been on the waggon....fell off a few times, but after drinking every night for years, I feel I have succeeded. It's not been easy and tonight for some reason, I really wanted a lil glass, but it does pass that feelin the thirst!lol

One day at a time...each day you'll feel good that you refrained from the demon 'drink' and it will become easier. I actually feel human in the mornings now=]

I now reward myself a lil tipple on a Friday for my good behaviour, I feel I've earned it and I can take it or leave it now....no more gaggin for it!muhahaha

x

Hang in there. Take it one day at a time. Take up juice or tea instead.

smoke a bowl instead
