What goes good with wine?!

Question: Cheese and fruit....

Answers: Cheese and fruit....

cheese

anything....sometimes I just drink it straight out the bottle

cheese
with red wine, dark meats
white wine, light meats

It depends on the wine.

Some of the full bodied reds, a little on the dry side, go perfectly with steak. Some not so dry, go with pasta done in a red sauce.

Some of the dryer whites go with chicken and seafood. The sweeter whites with pasta done in a cream sauce, or something like pasta and clams.

Sometimes it's nice to sit with a bottle of red wine and have some cheese and a pepperoni log. Other wines are really sweet, and are dessert wines.

Take your pick, and enjoy your wine.

Spaghetti and meatballs (even better if you cook with the wine your going to drink. i suggest a red wine)

bbq of sliced green apples+ italian cheese+ black turkish olives

delicimo

cheese

pasta and starches (like potatoes) go great with white wines.
fish and chicken also go well with a white wine.

stick to lighter color foods for lighter wines and darker foods for darker wines. this is a good, but basic rule of thumb.

it depends wat kind of wine are u talking about, red wine if dry goes great with meats (dark meat) like chicken, veal, lamb maybe. other red wines and blsuh wines go great with pasta. wite wine's best goes with seafood, not that seafood and alcohol get along pretty well, but if u are having seafood and u want a glass of wine with it then white wine would be the best to combine with it. if u are cooking with wine do not use wine that u would not drink and think that cooking wine is different, cook with wine that you would drink straight by itself.

cheese and crackers

More Wine!

A straw ;-)

Wine can be fairly versatile and you can often find a good range of wines to go with almost anything. It's generally held that red wine goes with red meats and cheeses while white wine is best enjoyed with fish or pasta dishes. The abundance of what is termed "new world wine", wine from non-traditional wine making countries e.g America, South Africa has tipped the scales somewhat and you should be able to find wine for almost any occasion or meal. Most wine available in supermarkets will usually give you some kind of advice on what the wine is best served with.

pasta goes great.

a nice cut steak, if its a red wine, white wine, strawberry's for sure

A nice date that will join you with candles in the hot tub---preferably in the nude. There are numerous scenarios, be creative and romantic. As far as food is concerned, go to the store and start reading the labels because there are quite a few to select that actually state what the particular wine goes well with.

I like a large glass!

regardless of what the experts say,a good dark chocolate is excellent with a full bodied red wine.or you can't beat a bowl of pasta with a rich, slow cooked ragu, again with red wine.sounds like a cliche, but fish, especially white fish,is fantastic with white wine, slightly dry.

Soft music, and my husband.

A good wine glass is the right place to start. The comment prior to mine (Sunybuni) was perfect. *g*
And Maurice, I like your idea of the bar-b-que pairing. YUM!

I think the question should be "What doesn't go with wine?" So many wines, so many combinations possible. It really depends on your taste. A glass of wine alone is wonderful, combined with a delicious meal and good company and it's amazing how much better the wine seems to taste.

Like chocolate and/or cheese? Pair it with Port.
How about a fruit tart? Pair with a Muscat, Asti Spumante, Chardonnay, or Port.

If you're new to wine start out on the light side with something like a Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio (white) or a Beaujolais Nouveau or blend (red).

I've provided a few links to lead you in the right direction. Maybe you could have a few friends join you for a wine tasting party. It'll give you a good opportunity to determine for yourself what YOU like. From there you can begin food pairing.

Depends on what type of wine you have? Cheese, crackers, salami's, fruit (pears) French bread.

Chocolate, conversation, and good friends!!!

crackers
cheese
pizza
ANYTHING!!!
If you are a true juice head!!!

Cheese, Fruit, Food, breathing....

With a square cube of bread is how I like it on my Sunday mornings
