Depends on what he likes to drink. I drink like i'm an aging war vet, but I would suggest Tullamore Dew, Tanqueray 10, or Dewar's. Another idea is Captain Morgan: Private Reserve. It is a REALLY tatsty rum and has a funky bottle. I'm sure he will appreciate whatever does the job though. Good luck.

Maybe something like Baileys irish cream along with a pack of guinness so he can make an irish car bomb? That's kinda creative-
or anything to make a mixed drink out of what you give him-

Buy a nice bottle of tequila. It should say 100% Agave. Don't buy Jose Cuervo. You won't find a 100% of Cuervo in the U.S. (They sell the junk here.) Buy maybe Centenario or Patron or Don Julio. Serve it in small quantities and sip. Anejo is aged two years; reposado is aged six-months, and blanco is not aged at all. The more aged, typically, the darker the tequila.

buy him one of those crown royal packs,, they come with glasses and crown royal is yummy good quality liquor.

I do this all the time for my drinking friends. If you know their favorite kind of liquor (rum, tequila, brandy, whatever), look up a new drink recipe. Buy the ingredients and put it together with the recipe. Check out barmeister.com. They have GREAT recipes for everything.

Patron ...

Jose Cuevo La Reserva De La Familia (reserved for the family) is one of the best tequilas that I've ever tasted. It is dark and smooth---not to mention that you need no salt and lime because its like a cognac that you can drink out of a brandy snifter.

The "box" that it comes in has a new artist/designer every year which I think is a nice touch and original---have purchased 5 bottles for friends on their birthdays and only wish that I never got it started because that's all they want now. The bottle is $85 to $105 dollars a pop. It's well worth it.

Get a "Tequila Kit".
Go to a liquor store, get a bottle of tequila.
Go to the Dollar Store and get a crazy/tacky cup.
Go to a grocery store and get a couple of limes and a pack of salt.
Done!

I would get any liquor that comes with glasses to drink out of next time yall decide to have more drinks. I prefer Remy X.O. it is a fine cognac which you can find packaged wit glasses for about 80 bucks.
