Would you classify alcohol?!

Question:

Would you classify alcohol?

as a hard drug?

Answers:
Definitely no. The reason is because we cannot assume people are ignorant. Authorities who classify alcohol as hard drugs will lose credibility and will fail to adequately warn people about the really hard drugs like heroine, cocaine etc. Do not cry wolf, just call a spade a spade.
Alcohol, as many other things, if consumed responsibly is safe. Alcohol is not for everyone but certainly we should offer the choice to responsible adults to drink.

Absolutely!!! And it should have all the restrictions of other hard drugs. They have all these laws about smoking, but I have yet to know of any traffic accident deaths caused by smoking!!!

Yup!!!

I wouldn't, but that's just a matter of opinion--I like the sauce. When you say 'hard drug' I think people have the image of the heroine addict, or the crack head ODing. That being said/typed, alcohol does have very negative effects on the body--it can destroy the liver overtime and I believe that consuming 1ounce of alcohol = the death of about 10,000 brain cells; but brain cells can be killed by all sorts of seemingly innocuous things i.e. holding your breath.

Yes. It's potentially very dangerous. Just because it's legal doesn't mean it's safe.

No, as with most anything everyone has a choice as to how much they consume and I would'nt consider alcohol addictive, problems occur when people drink at home and then go out to consume more. Alcohol consumption in pubs and clubs is restricted by responsible service laws that carry heavy fines if not adhered to, most people nowadays like to go out and enjoy a few drinks with friends in a comfortable environment and zero tolerance is shown towards drunks and troublemakers from both patrons and management alike.

Yes. I love to drink, but I'm not going to distort the facts.
Too much alcohol in one sitting can kill you, and repeated use can also. Alcohol is also addictive, mentally and physically. Withdrawl can kill you.
That's my criteria for a "hard drug."
Of course it would be the least dangerous of the hard drugs, but one nonetheless.

Yes. If it were invented today it would only be available by prescription.

It is classified as a drug and is THEE oldest known drug to man.
