What is the best, least expensive bourbon on the market?!

Question:

What is the best, least expensive bourbon on the market?

Answers:
The one served in the local bar called house bourbon.

Avoid bourbon. Go for whisky or whiskey.
What you should buy then depends on your taste as much as anything. Personally I love laphroaig. It has an interesting and unusual taste I have fallen for.
Be aware though, that while it is more expensive than regular whiskey/whisky, single malt tastes much more. And therefore ends up lasting twice as long. If not more.
So, unless you drink it to get drunk, or drink very much of it, buy single malt, 10 years old. Other than that I cannot tell you very much. What people like vary radically from person to person. However I am yet to meet anyone who actually likes bourbon... Except mixed with cola that is.

ten high is a cheap but good tasting bourbon.

being in Canada my options are a bit limited but Wild Turkey has always been a favourite. Kicks like a mule, bites like a mad dog and tastes like the working end of a bilge sump, good bourbon. The irony of bourbon is that the more you spend the more ghastly it is. I drink Irish whiskey now, Bushmills, not as sweet as bourbon but still has the nice earthy undertone without as much peat as scotch.

Did you know that bourbon got its name (indirectly) from a french King?

Dpeends on how cheap you are looking....

Evan Williams is a cheap Jack Daniels knock-off that you can get at most liquor stores. They have a 10-year old malt that is tolerable on the rocks for only $10 a fifth.

If you are going to make mixed drinks, There are the typical $20 handles of Bankers Club, or "insert the college brand of choice in your town"

Have a hand at trying to find a bottle of JTS Brown... it was good enough for Fast Eddie Felson! Bourbon is my favorite type of whisky... despite the fact that I am Canadian. My fav brand is Maker's Mark... but I enjoy a lot of different brands.
I think the most popular brand in the world is Jim Beam.
