Is a black and tan made with stout and lager or draught and lager?!


Question: Whatever you wish it to be. Traditionally in the US it is Bass (A Pale Ale) and Guinness (Also an Ale... Stouts are ale btw). In the Ireland it is half chilled Guinness and half warm Guinness creating the perfect drinking temperature. In the UK it is Guinness poured into a half a glass and topped off with any random English Bitter.

There are TONS of variations... One of my favorites is the Cream of Wheat... Guinness and Hoegaarden. The Black and Cherry... Guinness and Sam Adam's Cherry Wheat, but I like it with Lindeman's Kreik Lambic more.

Bitter and Guinness.

well let's see a draught is another word for a draft so that's not it. typically speaking it is Guinness and Bass. Guinness is a stout and Bass is an ale...

Black and tan is usually made with Bass and Guinness beers layered in a pint glass.

You can use either the bottles (which I prefer) or the draft beer from a tap.

Pour half a glass of Bass, then slowly add the Guinness with a pouring spoon on top. The Guinness will sit atop the Bass. Cheers, and enjoy!
