Question:

Is Falstaff Brewing Co. still in business?

beer

Answers:
Sadly, no longer. The brand was ended a year ago next week.

April 15, 2005: Pabst announces it will no longer produce Falstaff beer due to low production volume.

Oh, goodness, where have you been?

After record sales and profits at the end of the 1960s Falstaff began to fade and was taken over more than 30 years ago by the Kalmanovitz interests, which ran what was left of it (and other purchased breweries) into the ground. Kalmanovitz merged with Pabst, which thereafter ceased brewing activities, contract brewing many of the accumulated labels. Brewing of Falstaff stopped about 3 or 4 years ago.
The Pabst company still has some of its brands contract brewed (mostly by Miller) and, who knows, maybe Falstaff will be resurrected some day (as Naragansett has recently been).

(Personally I never liked Falstaff; it seemed more watery than even Budweiser).
