Grenadine is actually the juice from a Pomegranate (a nice round hard fruit). So the best grenadine will actually be freshly squeezed from one. This is however time consuming and can be expensive.

For this reason almost all "grenadine" drunk these days is actually raspberry cordial. For a drink such as a Shirley Temple to be fair it is hardly noticeable. It is worth spending the extra money when making old style prohabition era cocktails that call for grenadine, however in anything flavoured with juice or soft drink, just grab an old bottle of cordial and away you go.

In America Rosies is one of the best brands, in Australia Kirks or Schweppes are the biggest. If you were to do a blind tasting I would be very surprised if you could tell the difference.

you can get Grenadine at the liquor store, and really, it's all about the same, I would get the most inexpensive.

You can get it at any liquor store or the drink section of any grocery store that doesn't sell booze (like where I live).

I don't think there's one brand that's better than others . . . all are very sweet, and very good, but just buy one and go with it.

I get mine at the grocery store. Rose's Grenadine is good stuff.

Rose's is the brand the bars use. It can be found where ever mixers are sold.

They are all the same. Rose is a nice brand.

You can but grenadine inthe grocery store. Buy "Rose's" Its the best and the one suggested by most cocktail recipes.
