Answers: what is your preference ?

I've never actually tried non alcohol lagers and am a little curious!

My grandfather could no longer drink alcohol because of his health. But he missed his beer, so he tried a lot of the non-alcohol beers. He told me that the US ones were really bad. The only one he could stomach was Clausthaler.

I tried it once. It didn't taste bad, it kind of tasted like beer. But if you compared it to a real beer, there was no question which was which. My grandfather readily admitted it. But when his meal called for a beer to match, he'd have Clausthaler.

Here's a great practical joke, though. Get a bunch of non-alcohol beer with your friend, pour it into pitchers. Then get a bunch of other people and play quarters or some other drinking game. They will think it is real beer and get "drunk" and act silly.

The coup de grace, though, is to slip your buddy real beer. He will drink it down because he doesn't think it's real. And he will get wasted.

The only non-alcoholic beer that tasted good to me was St. Pauli Girl.

I quite often buy the President's Choice Lager - it is the most authentic tasting near-beer I've ever had. When cold it is REALLY quite good. And, I can have one or more and not worry about DUI.

personally, i'm very money-conscious. I like beer, but you get your money out of it more if it also gets you drunk. Non-alcoholic beer just doesn't taste right to me, either. It's like I cant have more than two or three because they just taste different... but it's hard to pinpoint exactly why.

I think there really is no point to them. I mean it is not like there are many people out there who like the taste of beer. You drink beer to get drunk not because you like the taste. Beer taste nasty. But that is just my thought! I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that like the taste of beer.

NO.. y would you want to drink a non-alcoholic beer.
WHY?
