Why do people crave food when they're drunk?!

Question:

Why do people crave food when they're drunk?

Answers:
When intoxicated, the centres in the brain controlling the hunger gets excited ....

my god i know! i stuff my face with kebab or kfc everytime the club closes, so not good for you!

no idea,i can never decide what i want,i just want something! maybe what we really want is water cos' we're dehydrated.

they forget about all their diet regimes

to sober up

Hi! I think it's because there blood and sugar levels are low and so the the body craves something to raise the levels again. Hope I helped :)

When you are drunk, you want to satisfy all of your senses. Taste, sexual, and sleep to name a few.

I think it must have somthin to do with ya blood sugar level...I know I always crave sumthin with garlic sauce on...mmmmm

It's not so much craving food, it's dehydration that makes people think they are hungry but they are really thirsty. if they drank a pint or two of water they wouldn't be hungry at all. Tiredness also make the body want food to keep energy levels up!

:D

I can't eat chip shop chips cos they upset my stomach - however I forget this when I have had a few and I fancy a chip butty - much to my regret the next day!

Low blood sugars

When we are drunk, then the body is dehydrated, and the blood sugar levels are very low.

As the brain is affected by the -OH in the system, it doesnt realise that the body needs food, as the sunapses are depressed, when it does there a sudden craving as the body is despirate.

Plus, when we are nearly drunk, its better to have something in the stomache to absorb the -OH which is getting consumed. The -OH will then be released in a more steady pace, instead of all at once.

I normally ease this erge with a Parmo =D (smoggies will know what I mean).
