What is special about champagne?!

Question: I'm asking because I haven't drank it yet.

Answers: I'm asking because I haven't drank it yet.

techically real champagne can only be called champagne if it is actually made from grapes which have been grown in the 'Champagne' region of France, hence why it is often expensive. its nice, but it can be quite gassy and it can go to your head quickly too! personally i think it is slightly overrated and some sparkling wines can be nice and not as pricey. my favourite though is martini asti, its like champagne but slightly sweeter, i prefer this. cheers!

It's light. and fizzy. And taste good! Oh by the way it's really good with a little O.J. in it!

I don't even know what's so good about it...it's fizzy and goes up ur nose when u drink it. Bad taste too, in my opinion.

Champagne is a sparkling wine produced by inducing the in-bottle secondary fermentation of wine to effect carbonation. It is produced exclusively within the Champagne region of France, from which it takes its name.

Its process is tedious and different from wine which makes it a sparkling wine:
After primary fermentation and bottling, a second alcoholic fermentation occurs in the bottle. This second fermentation is induced by adding several grams of yeast (usually Saccharomyces cerevisiae, although each brand has its own secret recipe) and several grams of rock sugar. According to the Appellation d'Origine Contr?lée a minimum of 1.5 years is required to completely develop all the flavour.During this time the champagne bottle is capped with a crown cap. The bottle is then riddled, so that the lees settles in the neck of the bottle. The neck is then frozen, and the cap removed. The pressure in the bottle forces out the ice containing the lees, and the bottle is quickly corked to maintain the carbon dioxide in solution. Some syrup is added to maintain the level within the bottle

I dont know, its light and fizzy. Nothing else that special. I.M.O I dont like it........

Champagne, like most other liquors was a product of targeted marketing.

True, champagne requires laborious methods to produce but if there was no demands for it, the winemakers would be having holidays.

Champagne was marketed as a upper-class drink and targeted at the socially high-standing. It was portrayed as exclusive, affluent, luxurious etc.

A good example is Ciroc Vodka who employed Sean "P Diddy" Combs as brand ambassador. Consumers like us who get influenced easily who soon want to buy Ciroc vodka just coz its "cool".

Another example is why women tend to choose Moet Chandon or Pink champagnes over others is due to the same reason. Moet launched a worldwide marketing campaign last year targeted at females drinking champagne. Needless to say, it was effective.

Bottom line is, alcohol is plan simple about liking or hating. You like a certain taste, stick with it.
Wanna be adventurous, try other stuff.
Don't like it? Never drink it again.
