That would be drink AND drive, not "drink in drive". Anyway, there are a lot of reasons. First off, drinking clouds your judgment, so your brain can tell you you're still OK to drive even when you're not. Second, people don't have backup plans for a way to get home, so they just hop in their car with the excuse that it's only a few blocks or a few miles or whatever. Third, it's a lot easier just to drive yourself somewhere when you're drunk than have to wait for a cab or ride the bus or plan to have a friend pick you up or take you home.
