I see different recipes.. adding cold water, and some recipes not even mentioning the cold water.. whats the best?

The best way would be without the cold water if you want them to be strong shots. They are both good but I personally like with out watre. cause the way you make them is make the jello just like instructions say and your supposed to substitude the water with vodka...

Not using the cold water makes them jell up firmer. Use the ones without cold water. Green Jello shots are the best.
you make the jello as directed on the box but instead of water you use the liquor of you choice i use vodka
Malibu Jello:
1 package peach passion-fruit jello
1 cup water
1 cup Malibu? coconut rum
Boil the water and add to peach passion fruit jello. Allow to dissolve for 2 minutes. Add the malibu rum and pour into shot glasses or one-ounce cups found in party stores. Chill for four hours before serving.
Serve in:

start by adding the amount of boiling water the directions on the box calls for and then substitute cold vodka in the amount that the directions on the box say to add cold water....then pour into shot glasses before it sets
I've used 1/2 hot water and 1/2 a flavored rum or vodka.
You can match or mix the flavor of the booze to the flavor of the Jello.
If you go straight booze with the Jello, they can be too strong.
