Question:

Does anyone know how to make the centre of a crunchie bar?

Answers:
SPONGE TOFFEE!!mm i love that stuff lol
1 cup dark corn syrup
1 cup sugar
1 tbs white vinegar
1 tbs baking soda, sifted
Butter to grease pan
(optional)Chocolate to drizzle

METHOD

Sponge toffee (makes about 6 cups)

Line a 9 inch square cake pan with 2 inch high sides with foil. Extend the foil over the sides of the pan.

Generously butter the foil.

Combine corn syrup, sugar and vinegar in a heavy deep saucepan. Make sure it's large as the mixture will enlarge greatly in the pan and you don't want it to overflow. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Continue cooking without stirring until it becomes caramelized, about 18 minutes.

Remove from heat.

Immediately add the baking soda and stir until well combined. It will foam vigorously at this point.

Immediately pour mixture into your prepared pan. Cool completely.

Once cool, remove from the pan by lifting the foil. Cut or break the toffee into pieces. If you like you can drizzle with chocolate.

=D ENJOY!!
