How long does red wine last, after it's uncorked?!

Question:

How long does red wine last, after it's uncorked?

I am wondering how long it takes red wine to spoil/go bad/etc. AFTER it's uncorked... i.e; how long is ALREADY OPENED wine good for?

Answers:
To the trained palate one day is all you can go until you would notice the effects of oxidation on the taste of the wine. At about day 3 even the unaccustomed palate will notice the difference. It won't necessarily be bad to drink it after that but the taste will not be there and should be used for cooking within about 3 weeks of original uncorking.

Pretty much one day and only if its stored properly - in a cool (not cold place) and with a stopper. After that it tends to oxidize.

I do like the vacu vin wine stoppers. They do seem to help a bit.
