When I'm 21 I want to drink scotch, do most bars carry old(12-25) scotch?!

Question:

When I'm 21 I want to drink scotch, do most bars carry old(12-25) scotch?

I live in orange county, ca, but if anyone has an experience with the selection of scotch at your neighborhood bar, I would like to hear any info.

Answers:
Okay, like the previous answer, most upscale lounges and bars will have a classy scotch. I'm from the Bay Area California and I've noticed that lots of upscale hotel bars have a special scotch menu for the 'afterhours' people.

PS. Can I just say how great it is that you already have your liquor choice in mind?! You're saving yourself lots of trouble with having to go through lots of crappy alcohol to get to the good stuff!!!!!

If you go to an upscale bar then you should be able to find an older glenfiddich etc but if its just a resaurant bar there will be some lower end scotches available not the really old ones.

I live in New Jersey at the moment, but spent a couple of years in california, and made my rounds thru Orange County. Pretty much any bar you walk into will have Scotch, and it's most likely that they will have at least one bottle of 12-25 yr old Scotch. Johnnie Walker Black Label is not bad, Dewars makes a very good blend as well. It's a bit pricier than most other drinks, but I enjoy it. Just curious, what makes you think you want to drink Scotch? It is quite the aquired taste.

Most bars carry 12-25 old scotch, but you can save a lot if you buy a bottle and try it at home with friends. I am a fan of Glenmorangie Port Wine Finish.

If you want to try something a touch sweeter try a rusty nail. Its half scotch and half dambuie, its very tasty but wicked strong.

happy birthday & cheers! :)
